SoulCollage(R) card: Blessings of water and sun

Summer heat, summer rain, summer flowers: roses, poppies, lilies, hydrangeas, clover blooming, grass greening. Water flowing, sun shining, earth heating up with new life and abundance.

Have you noticed how green everything is? I drive along the road in St Lazare and the maple trees are practically touching over the wires across the road, magnified beauty of green in every leaf. It seems like only a month ago we had a bare landscape barely budding.

Summer is the season of outdoor BBQ's, family celebrations, and a new baby boy in our family. Welcome Luca! almost 3 weeks old, new grandchild and brother to Sofia. Summer is pool time, lake time, ocean swimming time. Summer is bird song, nesting, fledglings taking flight.

What are you doing to enjoy this short summer season in Canada? or elsewhere?

I'm taking some time off after this last Open Studio for SoulCollage(R) card creation this Sunday, June 16. Just after summer Solstice we'll be heading east to the Baie des Chaleurs in the Gaspé, to Bonaventure, for salmon fishing, musical interludes and seeing family.

Remember to gather the roses while you may! Enjoy the seasonal pleasures, like lobster, and BBQ's and Rosé on the dock, or on your balcony. Salute the sunsets, take in the festivals, the summer nights, the bright lights, or the quiet nooks to read in. Savour it all, and savour summer.

I'll be back in the fall, probably in the last week of September, as we travel to Portugal for the first few weeks. Cozy Creek Open Studio will be here, plus a new series of Workshops with SoulCollage(R), Journaling and creative process to explore your mid-life feminine journey or Heroine's Quest. More news about that soon, but I'm planning a 6-week class beginning in October.
