Hear Yourself, How to Find Peace in a Noisy World
“This book dives deep into the heart, while reflecting on the meaning of existence and the immense possibilities it offers.”
This New York Times bestseller, written by international ambassador of peace, Prem Rawat, is a jewel of a book, packed full of nuggets of wisdom.
Reading this book helps me find a sense of calm amidst the chaos. It’s full of illustrative stories and suggestions for how to turn down the noise so we can hear ourselves, and listen to the subtle song of peace within.
Rawat addresses the challenges we face in choosing inner peace. He writes, “even in the wildest storms of our life, there is a place that is very calm, and that place is within us”. He suggests that to find peace we need to start with ourselves, that one lit candle can light another unlit one.
It's very rare to find a book that tells you that you already have everything you need – a book that is not trying to change you, but points to what is already there, running like a river beneath the noise and busyness that keep us ignorant of what is.
If this subject intrigues you, join us for an in-depth exploration of Hear Yourself in our book club discussion beginning Wednesday, February 21. We will meet weekly at 8 pm EST until April 3, going over two chapters per week, on Zoom.
